Self-Assessment Methodology for Smart Cities and Regions
This year is being difficult for everybody and Covid-19 is changing the way we live in cities, and in some way also forcing people to move out from cities to rural areas. We all know now how complicated life is being in confinement, trying to keep a good balance between personal life and professional activities while working from home and also living with high levels of stress when there is a health or safety risk in our surroundings. Under these complicated conditions in 2020 OASC.ie continues working from home looking for offering quality and innovation in our activities. This Year the Annual meeting is organised virtual and it focus on the topic of maturity assessment for smart cities, OASC.ie has prepared a series of smart city related activities for city officials and overall individuals that are interested in the maturity self-assessment for smart cities. An activity that has been always under estimated but that mark a crucial point for continuity and sustainability for cities.
This year at OASC.ie we are focus on introducing a methodology for KPI measuring using an Holistic approach called H-KPIs method. This methodology can be used (amongst other smart city activities) for self assessment of the smart city maturity level (different from readiness level) to support the Digital Strategy for Smart Cities. The sixth annual General Assembly Open Agile Smart Cities Ireland (OASC.ie) expo and workshop is this year a series of webinars and other virtual events and also co-located activities, stay tuned online with our activities via this website and learn more about this years activities as follow:
Global Plans and International Collaboration – FREE Online Event
A webinar to introduce the advances on maturity self-assessment method using H-KPIs is hosted virtual. A series of related topics and presentations that will allow the interaction and the public engagement coordinated by Insight SFI Research Centre for Data Analytics will uncover new ways for cities to self-assess maturity in terms of provided services, city users data and deployed IoT/BigData technology.

The Webinar on Smart City Maturity Assessment Methodology will bring together different stakeholders and citizens participation, as an online webinar representative smart cities organisations will have a time slot for participation to quickly explain their needs in order to understand their requirements and look for alternatives for implementing an assessment method that satisfy their needs. In this webinar we will talk about an innovative measuring Holistic KPIs method that will help to evaluate the smart city services and systems to objectively provide a path and guidance towards assessing the smart city maturity level in an objective manner.
This webinar will introduce the foundations to the Self-Assessment Maturity model developed in the context of an EU-USA international collaboration called NGI Smart City Scale-UP KPI Explorer Project, an IoT/BigData driven innovation activity in collaboration with the NIST (National Institute for Standards and Technology) – United States of America Department of Commerce, the Engineering Laboratory, Smart Grid and Cyber-Physical Systems Program Office, Washington DC, USA.
